In this news, we discuss the LG Velvet price in India, pre-order details leaked ahead of launch.
LG Velvet is apparently heading for its launch in India ahead of Diwali. The South Korean company’s ambitious smartphone came out a few months ago, but it was the 5G variant that suited mature markets such as the United States, South Korea and Europe. LG then launched the 4G variant of Velvet for markets without 5G networks, which is also happening in India.
An offline retailer Supreme Mobiles has reportedly started taking pre-orders for the LG Velvet in India. A tweet now deleted from the retailer’s account revealed that the LG Velvet would cost Rs 39,990 in India. There is however no information on the storage variant for this price. In addition, the additional dual screen accessory is also available for pre-booking for a total price of Rs 49,990 on LG Velvet. The company is expected to launch the LG Velvet by the end of the month, but no official announcements so far.
LG Velvet specifications
LG Velvet is the latest in the company’s stables to go against phones like OnePlus, Samsung, Oppo, and Google. The company highlighted how it changed the look of its phone to attract more customers while staying true to its hardware strategy. It all sounds impressive, but the biggest gripe from LG customers is its Android update system. LG is one of the few brands that takes years to roll out the latest Android software – something its customers have decried despite rave reviews of all of the software available on the phone. It will be interesting to see if Velvet will finally break the cycle and start a new one.
For specs, LG Velvet comes with a 6.8-inch 1080p pOLED display with a 20.5: 9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core SoC. The 5G variant of the phone uses the Snapdragon 765G SoC and there is a UW variant only for Verizon customers in the US.
You have 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, but you can expand the storage using a microSD card up to 2TB. The LG Velvet runs on Android 10 with the skin of the business on top.
There’s a three-camera setup on the back of the LG Velvet – a 48-megapixel autofocus main shooter, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor to produce bokeh effects. The front camera is a 16 megapixel shooter that resides inside the notch at the top of the screen. The LG Velvet comes with a holder for a stylus and has IP68 dust and water resistance and MIL-STD 810G certifications for durability. The LG Velvet is backed by a 4300mAh battery with 15W fast charging.
