Indian smartphone maker Micromax is set to return to the home market with a new ‘In’ series smartphone, the company said in a video teaser on Friday.

In a special message, Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma said the company had lost ground to Chinese players and what happened on the Indochina border was terrible. The border deadlock and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Autonomous India) motivated the local business to come back and do something for India.

As for the Indian smartphone market landscape, before the arrival of Chinese smartphone companies like Xiaomi and Oppo, to name a few in India, the smartphone market at the time was dominated by Samsung. and local businesses in South Korea, including Micromax, Karbonn and Lava.
