Disney Speedstorm, the animated but high-octane racing game featuring a cast of Disney and Pixar favorites like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Mike Wazowski, has an early access release date. Those who pre-order any of the game’s additional content packs will be able to play Disney Speedstorm on April 18.
Disney Speedstorm’s early access launch is available to players on all platforms: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. It’s a free kart racing game. Developed by Gameloft, also created the Disney Dreamlight Valley life simulation.
While Disney Speedstorm is free, Gameloft sells three Founder’s Packs, Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate, which unlock additional racers and other in-game items. The difference between the three packs is in the playable characters they unlock. The standard version will give you Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck; the deluxe edition will feature Mickey and Donald, plus Mulan; and the final version will unlock those three, plus Hercules and Captain Jack Sparrow. Pre-ordering you will also receive a special “early bird racing suit” from Donald Duck, which gives him a sleek black and chrome racing outfit and a matching car.
The trailer released alongside the Early Access release date introduced an almost comical seriousness to the cartoon runner – the trailer made it look like an intense racing game as they I just play Disney characters. That said, a lot of the character models in the game look great and I’m a bit obsessed with Mulan in her racing outfit.
