PUBG Mobile servers and services in India to completely stop from today, Tencent announces

In this news, we discuss the PUBG Mobile servers and services in India to completely stop from today, Tencent announces.

PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite will no longer work in India from today. The company took Facebook to announce that it will close all access and servers in India. The same message was also posted on the community gaming forum. The gaming app was banned by the Indian government during the second wave of Chinese apps bans on national security grounds. Along with PUBG, 117 more apps were banned in India.

Announcement of termination of services on Facebook, PUBG Mobile wrote: “Dear fans, To comply with the interim order of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology As of September 2, 2020, Tencent Games will terminate all services and user access in India to PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik and PUBG MOBILE Lite (together, “PUBG Mobile”) on October 30, 2020. The rights to publish PUBG MOBILE in India will be returned to the owner of the intellectual property of PUBG. “

While users could no longer download the app from the Indian Google Play Store or Apple iOS App Store, those who already installed the game were in some cases playing the game. With the shutdown of PUBG India servers, it will be more difficult for users to play the game in India. However, we believe that using a VPN or proxy will still allow some users to bypass the restrictions.

“Protecting user data has always been a top priority and we have always complied with applicable data protection laws and regulations in India. All user gaming information is handled transparently as outlined in our privacy policy. We deeply regret this result and sincerely thank you for your support and love for PUBG MOBILE in India, ”Tencent wrote on the Facebook page.

Following the ban, PUBG Corporation had withdrawn the rights to publish the game from Chinese company Tencent.

Notably, while PUBG mobile may be gone, PUBG is still available to users. This is because PUBG Mobile is the mobile version of the PUBG game, which was originally developed by PUBG Corporation, a South Korean game company. However, PUBG Mobile came to shore when Chinese company Tencent Games bought a 1.5% stake in Bluehole Studio. This is the version that was banned by the Indian government due to its connection with China, but not the PC version of the mobile game app.

In the first wave of Chinese apps bans in India, the government banned TikTok and 58 other apps in India. Apps were first removed from app stores and then blocked on networks. This meant that people could no longer download TikTok initially and users who already owned the app could no longer use the app after it was blocked by the servers. Besides TikTok, popular apps like Shareit, WeChat, CamScanner, UC Browser were also banned during the first wave of Chinese apps ban in India.

All PUBG Mobile servers intended for Indian users will be deactivated starting October 30, which is today, the company said. PUBG Mobile is already banned on Google Play Store and Apple iOS App Store.
