Aussie striker Lachie Swinton will miss the rest of the Tri Nations after securing a four-week ban for a high tackle on New Zealand lock Sam Whitelock in Saturday’s Brisbane victory. The spirited flanker became the first Wallabies player to earn a red card on his testing debut after making contact with the veteran All Blacks’ header in the first half of the 24-22 win at Lang Park.

It was the second red card of the game, coming shortly after All Blacks mainstay Ofa Tu’ungafasi was sent off for a similar tackle on Wallabies winger Tom Wright. Tu’ungafasi also faces a ban and will appear in court on Tuesday at 06:00 GMT.

The Tri-Nations continue with the All Blacks taking on Argentina in Sydney on Saturday.
