The Missouri Senate Gubernatorial Appointments Committee on Wednesday accepted Gov. Mike Parson’s appointment as a future board member for Missouri State Technical College.
Parson appointed Shanda Trautman, of Nixa, in late February 2020 to take a Democratic place in the state Tech Council of Regents.
In December, however, Parson withdrew appointments, including those of Trautman, from Senate consideration. She told the committee on Wednesday that her confirmation hearing had been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now that she has been approved by the Senate Governor Appointments Committee – all nominees to the body on Wednesday were approved by a unanimous vote – her appointment to the Linn College Board of Regents is being submitted to a vote above all the Senate.
Trautman heads marketing for Old Missouri Bank in Springfield, graduated from Missouri State University and has been active in the Springfield community.
