Sony a7S Mark III mirrorless camera launched in India at Rs 3,34,990

In this news, we discuss the Sony a7S Mark III mirrorless camera launched in India at Rs 3,34,990.

Sony unveiled the a7S Mark III mirrorless camera in July. The company has now launched the Sony a7S Mark III in India at a price of Rs 3,34,990. The a7S III full frame mirrorless camera is the successor to the Sony a7S II released in 2015. Since then, camera users have been waiting for the a7S Mark III.

Sony India’s Head of Digital Imaging, Mukesh Srivastava, says “The Alpha 7S III opens up a whole new world of possibilities for new age content creators.” As Sony a7S Mark II is a video centric camera, users expected the same from the latest a7S Mark III. But the camera seems to target professional photographers rather than filmmakers.

The Sony a7S Mark III can record 4K videos up to 120p with 10-bit color depth and 4: 2: 2 chroma downsampling. While the Canon EOS R5 can record 8K raw video up to 30p and 4K videos up to 120p. Canon EOS R5 was launched at Rs 3.39,995 in India this year and videographers might be more inclined to the camera for its video specifications.

Speaking of the specifications and features of the a7S Mark III, the camera packs a 12.1-megapixel 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor and a BIONZ XR image processing engine. Sony’s latest full frame mirrorless camera offers expandable ISO range from 40409600, features 9.44 million dot OLED electronic viewfinder, hinged LCD panel, built-in 5-axis image stabilization, range dynamic of 15 stops and more and two slots for CFexpress Type A card.

There is a fast hybrid autofocus system in the a7S Mark III with 759-point phase-detection AF sensors covering 92% of the image sensor. The camera offers real-time ocular autofocus and real-time tracking.

As for availability, the Sony a7S Mark III will be up for grabs from October 14 in India.
