This month marks the 4th anniversary of the Nintendo Switch. But, Nintendo is apparently not done with the Wii U yet. For the first time in 2.5 years, Nintendo has released a firmware update for the Wii U. This means that your console, if you are still using it, can be updated to version 5.5.5 U.
Surprisingly, the official patch notes don’t have much to say. In fact, all that is mentioned is that “further improvements to overall system stability and other minor tweaks have been made to improve the user experience”.
In this particular case, we’re talking about the Wii U. The tablet device and console has just been updated for the first time since September 2018. The patch notes admittedly aren’t all that exciting (and appear to be the same as the last lot), but still – it’s an update for the Wii U in 2021!
