Over the past few days, Google TV has been showing “personalized ad updates” on TVs and streaming devices.
When personalized ads are turned on, they may be based on your Google account information and activity on other Google products and services, such as Google TV, Google Search and YouTube. This information and activity is used to personalize the ads you see in Google’s advertising space on Google TV and partner apps. Ads will not be personalized if the signed-in account is under his 18 years of age.
Your activity and Google account information are not shared with partner apps, and your activity information from those partner apps is not shared with Google. As far as we know, there are no real changes or additions to Google TV settings. After reading this message, you can close the dialog without doing anything.
Personalized ads are nothing new to the platform and are tied to your Google account. The company launched “My Ad Center” in his November, allowing users to customize ads based on their interests and brands.
Like Android phones, Google TV allows you to reset or remove your advertising ID from the Settings > Privacy > Advertising app. Anyway, the term “update” is particularly confusing, as many Google TV users, including Chromecast owners, are seeing this message via personalized ads. It’s not clear why Google made users fully aware of this.
