AUSTIN, Texas (NewsNation Now) – Texas is lifting its mask mandate, Governor Greg Abbott said on Tuesday, making it the largest state to end an order to reduce the spread of the coronavirus that killed more of 42,000 Texans.
The Republican governor has faced strong criticism from his party over the mandate, which was imposed eight months ago, and other restrictions from COVID-19.
