The day - Politicians and media profit from mutual demonization

Politics towards 2021. To my Republican friends: Democrats won Congress and the presidency. Does anyone see a “radical socialist agenda” going on? Not. A majority of Americans support President Joe Biden’s stimulus package, a reasonable minimum wage, immigration reform, infrastructure projects. This is NOT radical socialism, but the attacks on this program are ugly propaganda intended to frighten, polarize and mislead. And to my Democratic friends: the judiciary is filled with right-wing judges. Yet several Republican judges have rejected former President Trump’s election lies. And they keep saying that he is not above the law: he can be held responsible for his fault.

Ditto on COVID-19. While Trump has mismanaged and misled, costing countless lives, he deserves huge credit for accelerating the development of vaccines that will solve the problem. Yet if 50% of Republicans refuse to be vaccinated and too many masks avoid distancing, thousands more Americans will die needlessly, and the economy will continue to decline due to politically motivated disinformation.

We are played by politicians and the media who benefit from our mutual demonization. Democrats and Republicans: Unite in a Common Cause to Punish Demagogues and the Media that Divide Us!
