AUSTIN (KXAN) – Texas lawmakers say they have been approached by the Austin Interim Public Health Authority, which offered them the COVID-19 vaccine, whether or not they are currently eligible.
In an attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19, Dr. Mark Escott approached lawmakers in an informal meeting ahead of the convening of the Texas Legislature. Several of these legislators are not on the distribution list for phase 1A or 1B vaccines established by the Department of State Health Services.
Lawmakers who have agreed to receive the vaccine say it is crucial because they are supposed to attend large gatherings, such as the Texas Legislature.
