When Kenneth Castilow entered his home for the first time in three days, all he could do was cry.
The water pipe that snaked through the ceiling of her kitchen had burst during the winter storm. Water flowed through a ceiling light on the floor, filling the room with several inches of liquid. The taps were not working and, on Saturday, Castilow, 63, had not had running water for nearly two weeks at his home.
“Things are happening, but you still have to praise God,” he said.
On Saturday, teams from the Houston Health Foundation investigated damage to Castilow’s house in Sunnyside and planned to replace the pipes and its water heater, in part thanks to a $ 500,000 donation from Aramco to the ‘non-profit organisation.
