Rachel Herz, PhD Neuroscientist Rache is a leading neuroscientist and global specialist in the psychological science of smell who strives to uncover the fascinating and surprising facts that affect our food choices. She is also a professional consultant to various industries relating to fragrance, taste, food and flavor, and is frequently called upon as an expert witness in legal cases involving olfaction. Dr. Herz is the author of several books including his latest book Why you eat what you eat: the science behind our relationship with food which explores how our senses, brain and psychology govern our perception of food, as well as the experiences and consequences of eating. She is also on the faculty of Brown University and Boston College.
