The Mi 9 was Xiaomi’s flagship smartphone for the first half of 2019. The smartphone debuted with MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie. It was later updated to Android 10 and MIUI 11 in the same year. Then, in 2020, the device received MIUI 12 update as well. Now, the company has started rolling MIUI 12.5 update for the Mi 9 along with Android 11.
Hence, the latest system update for Mi 9 not only brings MIUI 12.5 but also Android 11. This update is currently live in China with build number V188.8.131.52.RFACNXM and April 2021 security patches.
Xiaomi has been seeding MIUI 12.5 update to eligible phones for the past few weeks. At the same time, the company has been also rolling out the Android 11 update for some devices.
Like any other newly released public MIUI build, this one is currently in the Stable Beta phase. This means it is being rolled out in batches. Therefore, the update is only available for a select few users right now.
