Hinds County sheriff’s deputies were at the scene working to get the lines off the road.
Price said for the last six months, someone keeps coming back, allegedly to steal copper. Price said the thief or thieves are so crafty, they even built a makeshift ladder on a telephone pole to get the job done.
“If you don’t have internet and you don’t have phones, it’s hard to communicate. It’s hard to do business,” said Bill Price, president and CEO of All Star Forest Products.
Price said the problem is among several reasons why he’s decided to sell his building and move. He said it’s costing him more and more money.
Price said until the party responsible is held accountable, the problem will keep happening and causing more inconvenience for the people who live and work on North McRaven Road.
“So now, what we’ve had to do is, we have C Spire and Xfinity. We pay for both, so if one goes down we’ve got a backup,” Price said.
The Hinds County Sheriff’s Office has not released details about the investigation.
