Ubisoft is bringing a lot more to The Division universe, starting with a new free-to-play game.
Ubisoft didn’t reveal a ton of information about what to expect from The Division Heartland, other than that it will provide an all-new perspective on The Division universe both for series veterans and newcomers. The game will also head to platforms like Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC, PS5, PS4, and apparently the cloud.
Tom Clancy’s The Division is one of the biggest new franchises to release in the last few years, and Ubisoft intends to grow the franchise to all new heights in the future. Today, Ubisoft officially announced The Division Heartland, a new free-to-play game set in the expanding The Division universe coming in 2021 or 2022. The game is currently being helmed by Red Storm, a studio that has worked on Tom Clancy games since 1997, including The Division and The Division 2.

Finally, Ubisoft also revealed that The Division is also heading to mobile devices with a new game at some point in the future. We don’t know anything about the project right now, but it looks like it’s planned to come after The Division Heartland and new The Division 2 content. We’ll have to wait a bit longer to hear more about this mobile expansion of the franchise.
On top of the announcement of an all-new game set in The Division universe, Ubisoft also provided updates and other new announcements. New content is still planned for The Division 2 after the successful Warlords of New York expansion, and a novel and film are both in the works for The Division (the latter being in development with Netflix).
The Division franchise has already established itself as some of the best games on Xbox for fans of the genre, and Ubisoft is planning to make it even greater. We can’t wait to see what happens with The Division Heartland.
