Kiev, Ukraine (AP) – An explosion at a Ukrainian hospital where COVID-19 patients are being treated killed one person and injured another, authorities said on Saturday.
The national emergency service said in a statement that the explosion occurred in an oxygen line. He said 20 people were evacuated after the explosion at Chernivtsi hospital, a town about 400 kilometers southwest of Kiev.
Saturday’s explosion was the second deadly oxygen explosion at a Ukrainian hospital this month. Three COVID-19 patients and a young doctor died when an explosion sparked a fire at a hospital in Zaporizhzhia in the first week of February.
