More more than 500,000 more people became eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine in Connecticut on Monday, including education workers and people aged 55 and older.
Local health services are responsible for coordinating immunization plans for education workers in their area.
The Uncas health district covers 11 municipalities in the Norwich region, serving Bozrah, Franklin, Griswold, Lebanon, Lisbon, Montville, Norwich, Preston, Salem, Sprague and Voluntown.
The health district is teaming up with Yale New Haven Health to immunize educators, child care providers and other eligible school staff in these cities.
“Appointments will be made available to them in March,” said Patrick McCormack, director of health for the Uncas health district. “The regional partnership in Southeast Connecticut is incredible.”
