The Missouri Department of Health and Seniors Services reported 225 more COVID-19 deaths early Wednesday morning.
More more than 8,100 Missourians have died from the coronavirus pandemic, according to the state’s dashboard.
Health Department spokeswoman Lisa Cox said in an email that the deaths came from the weekly verification of death certificates. The check confirmed that some deaths occurred months ago:
October 2020 – November 2, 2020 – December 1, 2020 – January 4, 2021 – February 15, 2021 – 65
The health service has been carrying out weekly checks since September.
