MADISON, West Virginia (AP) – Services of a West Virginia County health department have been suspended following an investigation by state health officials.
A sight assessment by the state’s public health bureau found shortcomings in operations, including the fact that the Boone County health department did not have written policies for infection prevention, l hand hygiene or cleaning the environment, news points of sale reported. He also found that the facility was in need of a thorough cleaning.
The suspension was announced in a February 17 letter from Dr Anye Amjad, public health official and commissioner of the Office of Public Health.
“The results of this assessment indicate several areas of operational concern that require immediate attention in the interest of patient safety for the citizens of Boone County,” the letter said.
