President meets scientists involved in the development of the Chang’e 5 lunar program
President Xi Jinping on Monday encouraged workers in China’s space industry to strive for successful future lunar explorations in the country and to conduct interplanetary expeditions with a methodical approach.
Xi, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, urged space industry workers to take advantage of China’s unique resource mobilization system, which is characterized by its ability to mobilize all available resources to overcome difficulties and achieve its objectives when developing plans and conducting future space programs.
He also called on them to encourage more innovation and growth in the country’s science, technology and space applications sectors, and to strengthen international cooperation to further contribute to the well-being of humanity.
