Jura Z10 review (2023) high-end coffee machine with great features

makes consistently great drinks.

We might be at the peak of coffee snobbery, since there seem to be great coffee shops on every street corner. But if you want to make coffee at home that tastes like it came from a barista, you really only have one choice: buy one of the best bean-to-cup coffee Maker. Swiss company Jura has been at the forefront of bean-to-cup technology for a long time. All you have to do is press a button, and sweet-tasting coffee will be ground and put in your favorite mug.

Jura Z10: Description

Because the company has been around for a long time and has learned a lot, it now makes some of the most beautiful and useful machines on the market. Its latest Z10 tries to go one step further than the competition by using a “world first” cold extraction method. This method uses cold water and high pressure to make espressos that taste a little bit sweeter. It also means you can add cold milk and ice in the summer to make a tasty iced coffee. On top of that, it has a fancy 4.3″ touchscreen display that lets you choose from all kinds of specialty drinks.

From here, all you have to do is tap the screen to start the grinding and coffee-making process. All you need to do is fill up the water tank and put your favorite beans in the hopper. Jura also puts a lot of effort into the grinding and extraction process. A Product Recognizing Grinder (PRG) adjusts itself in a fraction of a second to make sure that the grind is the right consistency for the drink. This is combined with the company’s clever 3D brewing process, which lets water flow over the ground coffee on different levels to make a better espresso.

Jura Z10: Design

Jura Z10 review

The Jura z10 is a beautiful, high-end espresso machine that is sure to be the center of attention in any kitchen. It comes in either Diamond Black or Aluminum White, both of which look great. The LED backlighting on the water tank and cup holder and the eye-catching geometric pattern on the water reservoir are two of Jura’s nice design features. The machine has a double spout that can be changed in height and width to fit any size cup.

The Jura z10 is a big, heavy machine that you should know about. It’s hard to move and takes up a lot of space on the counter. The bean hopper is on top, so there needs to be some space above it so that it can be reached and filled. Even though the espresso machine has a big footprint, it can hold a lot of coffee.

It has a big 2.4-liter water tank that won’t need to be filled up all the time. It also has a big 280-gram bean hopper with a tight rubber seal to keep the beans fresh. Both the drip tray and the container for used pucks are big and well-made.

Jura Z10: User Interface

Jura Z10 review

You can use the Jura Z10 in a few different ways. The Jura Operating Experience (J.O.E.) app is a great place to start. We’ll talk more about that later in this review of the Jura Z10. The huge color touchscreen display is the way to go if you want to do more with your hands.

Oh, and if you want, you can also use the rotary dial on top to move through the menus. We have to say that the touchscreen is a beautiful thing, and it also works very well. Still, there is a lot of information to sort through, which can be a little overwhelming at first.

Cleaning/ Maintenance

If you spend a lot of money on an espresso machine, you want to make sure it will last. And part of that is making sure the machine is cleaned and taken care of regularly. The Jura z10 has built-in ways to clean itself so that it can keep working at its best. Because the brew group is fixed in place, it can’t be taken out for deep cleaning or maintenance. However, the cleaning cycles help keep it clean.

Because it has a big capacity, you don’t have to clean it as often. You only have to empty the drip tray, the used puck container, and fill the water tank. Because the Claris water filter keeps scale from building up, the Jura z10 doesn’t have to be descaled as often. The machine has built-in descaling programs and an alarm to let you know when it’s time to do this. Descaling is a pretty simple process that takes about 20 minutes.

Jura Z10: Performance

In general, the Jura Z10 did well in tests. But there are a few problems with how it works and how easy it is to use. Even though these aren’t much worse than what I’d expect from a modern coffee machine, it would have been nice to see less trouble with the Z10, given how much it costs.

When you turn on your Jura Z10 for the first time, you’ll need to set it up with your Wi-Fi information and the results of your water hardness test, which come with the machine. Next, you should run a quick maintenance cycle to make sure all the parts are working and you’re ready to make your first cup of coffee. You might also want to change how it works.

Finally, it’s time to make your first coffee and drink it. There are 32 different kinds of barista-quality coffee to choose from, so you won’t be disappointed. Fill the water tank, bean hopper, and any milk accessories you have, and you’re ready to choose your coffee. Here’s my first complaint. For me, the screen was a real nightmare. It’s so responsive that every third or fourth time we used it, we picked the wrong coffee and had to wait awkwardly for the cancel button to show up after Jura’s signature Thermoblock system was done heating up.

There are presets on the Jura Z10 for making espresso, doppio espresso, cortado, latte macchiato, macchiato, flat white, cappuccino, caffe latte, caffè barista, americano, and jug of coffee. You can also ask for hot milk and milk foam, or just hot water or hot water for green tea. By tapping the menu at the top of the screen, you can see which drinks can be made as cold brew, with an extra shot, with ground coffee from the grounds container, or while making two drinks at the same time.

Intelligent preheating will make sure that your coffee is just right from the first cup, and the PRG and 3D brew technologies will make sure that the settings are right for the drink you want to make. After choosing your drink, you can switch between the 10 coffee strength options and the milk and coffee volume options, or you can change the default options by pressing and holding the drink in the menu.

Price and availability

Jura Z10 review

The Jura Z10 can be bought both online and in stores in the UK. Prices range from £2,145 to £2,245 depending on the machine’s color and finish. It’s not for sale in the US right now, but we did find a few in Australia for around AU$4,500. You can find a good selection of Jura machines online at Harrod, and the home appliance giant AO.com also has the latest models.

Final Words

Even though I hate foolish marketing, and the Jura Z10 is full of it, that’s almost the only thing that really bothers me about this great machine. The P.R.G. alone would be a good enough reason to recommend it. The technology behind it, with all of its adjustment options, is top-notch. The Jura Z10 is a luxury sled where you can sit in the cockpit and get everything out of your coffee beans. Everything, really.

The question of price is still open. The Z10 is very expensive compared to many of the other super automatic espresso machines we have reviewed. This is especially clear in the duel between the high-end Jura and DeLonghi.

Still, no other company puts as much emphasis on good espresso extraction. No other fully automatic machine makes a cortado or lungo that smells as good as the Jura Z10. On top of that, the Jura Z10 comes with a whole bunch of new coffee specialties that you can try out and enjoy. This baby is still a winner in the end.

Does Jura Z10 make coffee?

The Z10 makes authentic cold brew drinks. In most cold coffee drinks, the coffee is brewed hot and then chilled. In the Z10, the coffee is extracted with cold water, high pressure pulses, and more coarsely ground coffee.

Why Jura is the best?

The grinders that come with Jura machines are very good, so each cup of coffee can be made from freshly ground beans. When all of these things work together, it’s no surprise that the coffee tastes great.
