The confessions of Rishi Kapoor, ultimate actor of Khullam Khulla

Brutal, frank and truthful – Rishi Kapoor is venerated for features as such. Regardless, we could say, by some circles. But is it even important? Absolutely not because Rishi Kapoor will be Rishi Kapoor. His magnanimity on screen and beyond is such that the main actor is loved not only by his kindness but also by the new generation of actors.

Over a career spanning more than four decades, Rishi – son of legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor and his wife Krishna Kapoor – has achieved outstanding performances since his debut. Police officer and subsequently, in films comprising Kabhie Kabhie, Amar Akbar Anthony, Karz and Bol Radha Bowl. Besides the movies, the actor also wrote his memoirs with Meena Iyer, entitled Khullam Khulla – in the typical style of Rishi Kapoor – without honest effort. Therefore, it would be prudent to claim that his book fully validates the title.

Shortly after the release of the book, he made one of the revelations of the actor about his personal and professional life and, at the age of 66, we have gathered some excerpts from his memoirs that justify the fact that Rishi, with his biography, was at his best without censorship. Or should we say, without mixing!

Well, you can decide for yourself. But for now, take a look at this piece because its confessions are nothing less than a candid redefinition.

The phase Vyjayanthimala -Nargis

It's not that Rishi is unaware of his father's reputation in the film industry, but he has not thought twice before revealing Raj Kapoor's extramarital affairs with former Nargis actresses. Vyjayanthimala. In elaborating this, Rishi also mentioned the fate of his mother, saying that he had moved into an apartment with her during this time.

"I was very young when my father had an affair with Nargis ji, and has not been affected by it. I do not remember feeling that something was wrong with me either. But I remember moving in with my mother to the Natraj Hotel on Marine Drive while Dad was involved with Vyjayanthimala. My mother decided to give up this time. From the hotel, we moved for two months to an apartment in Chitrakoot. My dad had bought the apartment for mom and us. He did everything in his power to get her back, but my mother only gave in at the end of this chapter of her life.

TRIANGLE BOBBY-DIMPLE-YASMIN

Yes, of course, Rishi was linked to several actresses of his time, but the actor wrote in his biography that his first girlfriend was a Parsi, Yasmin Mehta, with whom he had a rather serious relationship before. Police officerThe release of the film in 1973. Shortly after the release of the film, an article in a magazine about his friendship novel with co-starred Dimple Kapadia led to the end of his relationship with Yasmin, although Dimple was the least affected.

"At the time of Bobby's release in 1973, Stardust, which was the most popular magazine of his day, published an article on a love story between Dimple and me. Dimple, who at that time was already married to Rajesh Khanna, was not very affected. But that ended my relationship with Yasmin, I tried to bring her back into my life, but she was not in agreement.

RISHI AND BIG B: Freinds or FOES

If Rishi did not want to talk about his father's personal life, why would he even try to hide his unpleasant attitude in the past, of course, towards Amitabh Bachchan? He is of the opinion that fleshy roles have been written for Big B, even in films with a cast overall. Apart from this, Rishi is also of the opinion that Big B "has never given credit" to his co-stars. Okay, so this admission certainly requires courage.

"To return to Amitabh, I must admit that there is still a persistent problem with Amitabh Bachchan. A big disadvantage of working in a movie stars at that time was that everyone only wanted to do action movies, which automatically meant that the star who could lead an action with the most talent would get the part the most delicate. Thus, with the exception of Kabhi Kabhie, which was a romantic film, none of the multi-stars that I could see had for me a role of author. And it was not just me. Shashi Kapoor, Shatrughan Sinha, Dharmendra, and Vinod Khanna also faced each other.

This one could be hard to believe. But note, we do not say that, Rishi is. Police officer and the Big B movie Zanjeer released the same year and Rishi received the best actor award for his role in the film. But guess what? Rishi had actually "bought" the honor. No seriously.

"I think that Amitabh would sulk because I had won the Best Actor Award for Police officer. I'm sure that he felt that the price was rightly for him Zanjeer, which was published the same year. I'm ashamed to say it, but I actually "bought" this award. I was so naive. There was this PRO, Taraknath Gandhi, who told me, "Sir, do hazaar tees," I'm not the manipulative guy but I admit I gave him the money without thinking.

RISHI AND NEETU KI PREM KAHANI

After Police officerIncredible success, Rishi expects the same from his next movies, but life is unfair, sometimes. In fact, most of the time. Most of his films after Police officer tanked at the box office, escalates its state to that of depression. His wife, actress Neetu Singh, unfortunately had to suffer the wrath and it is certainly not an easy task for Rishi because Rishi held most of the time responsible for his failure.

"Neetu was pregnant with Riddhima and had to endure my collapse in this fragile state. I finally arrived with the help of supportive colleagues, family members and friends, but I can only imagine how this experience has been trying for her.

Kabhie Kabhie

Kabhie Kabhie is memorable for Rishi for obnoxious reasons to be precise. First, he intended to avoid playing it because the film had co-interpreted Big B and later almost rejected it because he had observed a major Neetu complex – he felt that his role in the film was better than his. Rishi eventually ended up signing him after a strict reprimand from his uncle Shashi Kapoor.

"I mentioned earlier that I was reluctant to do Kabhi Kabhie at first because I had been warned not to work with Amitabh Bachchan. The second reason was that I felt that Neetu had a bigger role than me. That's why I told Yash Chopra, if you want me to do the movie, give me the role of Neetu. Of course, Yash-ji was confused.

Rishi: The fashion icon

Rishi made a big misstep once, and for this excerpt, we do not need to specify. Instead, we'll just let him talk.

"Today, I admit that my second film Zehreela Insaan was a mistake. After the bubbly Bobby, I'd have had to stick to something similar and not be gone for such a drastically different movie … The only lasting memory of the shooting of Zehreela Insaan was the black pants that I'd I had bought in Beirut. I had used to shop for my costumes and this beauty fitted with flares drew my imagination. It was only later, when I wore it in the song "0 Hansini", that the dressed man pointed out that his zip was on the side and not in front. I had done a boo boo, picking up women's pants.

crossroads

As Rishi admitted, his relationship with Dimple Kapadia has been dissected and divided even beyond celluloid. But she was married to Rajesh Khanna while Rishi settled with Neetu. It was after the return of Dimple with Saagar, with Rishi featuring, that Neetu confessed that she was not very comfortable with the fact that her husband was working with her.

"Many years after our marriage, Neetu told me that the only time she felt threatened was when I was working with Saagar. But she did not have to worry. Dimple was a friend, although she may have been a little more than that during Bobby. Ten years had passed; she was dating a marriage with two children and I was also well settled with two children.

Well, certainly, Rishi deserves applause for his utterly honest statements and what better than to do on his birthday?
