Helicopter Eela Movie Review Evaluation: 2/5 stars (two stars)
Star Cast: Kajol, Riddhi Sen, Tota Roy, Chowdhury, Neha Dhupia, Tiffin (Dabba)
Director: Pradeep Sarkar
What is good: There are so stupid sequences that you really start having fun with them, Kajol – the only glimmer of hope from this otherwise dull and dark cloud!
What is the problem: The story does not make sense! It was intended to display parenting behavior in a helicopter, but it eventually covers all other irrelevant things.
Loo Break: No break, you will need 3 breaks while watching this!
To watch or not ?: A star is born, first man, Friday, AndhaDhun, Aravinda Sametha, Boyz 2 – there is at least one better option in each language. Do you really need to choose this one? Read in advance and decide!
Eela (Kajol), a mother obsessed with everything her son Vivan (Riddhi Sen) is related to. At first, we see Eela enter the same college as Vivan. From nowhere, we are caught in the flashback sequence to see how she was a dreamer. Aspiring singer, Eela of 90s is ready to sing whatever, even if it is jingles for television. As she rides a bicycle with Arun, her boyfriend, she moves to the Rhythm House and calls her her "Zindagi".
Throughout the flashback sequence, there are far too many useless cameos from Anu Malik, Mahesh Bhatt, Ila Arun, Baba Sehgal and Alisha Chinai. We see how Eela, for a very illogical reason, loses her husband and raises Vivan as a single mother. On the current scene, we see Eela and Vivan having problems in college and the way the problems bring them together is the subject of the story.
