An Initial Claim
A mathematical problem that would have taken a supercomputer 10,000 years to answer was solved in three minutes, according to Google’s Sycamore quantum computer in 2019. However, IBM and others have disputed this, claiming that it would only require a few weeks of conventional processing. The problem that was solved was also seen as being unimportant for all intents and purposes.
