Here is the list of the best things to do in Playa Jacó, Costa Rica

Surf

Are you planning a trip to Costa Rica? One of the places to surf that may immediately appear on your radar is Costa Rica, Jaco. Surfing in Jaco is definitely a local experience, as Jaco is the largest coastal city near San José, the capital of Costa Rica. While surfing at Jakoda isn’t as clean, rugged, and beautiful as other Costa Rican surf towns, it does have appeal to this local surf and banquet town. Plus, with surf gems close to Playa Hermosa, it’s no wonder this is one of the most popular surf destinations in Costa Rica! All in all, Jaco is a long, sandy break on the beach.

When the water flow is low, the seawater dries up a bit; it is better to surf during the flood. This is a good beach to learn to surf, but intermediate and advanced surfers may be disappointed with the waves in Jaco. There are many beautiful places to surf in Costa Rica and Jaco is at the bottom of this list to be honest. However, it is still a very popular area and if you want to try all that Costa Rica has to offer, this is it. Note that experienced surfers should head a bit south to Playa Hermosa, this is the best wave in all of Costa Rica.

paddle surf board

Discover the thrill of Stand Up Paddling! Stand Up Paddleboarding (or SUP) is the fastest growing water sport in the world, and for good reason: it’s incredibly fun and easy to learn. Academy Surf School classes are taught by our teachers, the most friendly and experienced in the central region of Costa Rica, without exception. We put at your disposal a grandstand, rowing and patient, friendly and professional guides who will make you fall in love with this sport in a short time. The class walks in the waters of Jaco, Herradura or Mantas beaches and enjoys spectacular views and local wildlife.

Excursions in ATVs

Not all adrenaline rushers like to jump off waterfalls. For others, there’s a long, fuzzy trail, so you can explore the natural beauty off-road where you can rent a full land vehicle (ATV). The roads lead into the mountains and have very rough terrain. Although it is very beautiful with excursions through the river and the forest, you will not be able to do this route on foot. ATV is your only option. Many ATV companies provide services here. Look for the best for an optimal experience.

waterfall tours

We have several trips to the waterfall to suit almost all skill levels. If it’s fun to enjoy waterfalls, jump off cliffs or enjoy a zip line and fall face-first into the waterfall, we have an adventure for you. Go into the rainforest with a nature guide to help identify monkeys, crimson macaws, and toads. learn about frogs and plants, trees and the history of Costa Rica. Beautiful walks, tropical jungle, nature guide and clean waterfalls, you will never forget this wonderful adventure.

White Beach Beach

When you think of the beautiful beaches of Costa Rica, you probably think of Playa Conchal full of shells, the cool Playa Flamingo and even Playa Punta Uva with caramel-colored sand and a lush forest in the background. One area that doesn’t normally come to mind is Jacó. But not far from this bustling seaside town is a stunning white-sand beach called Playa Blanca (sometimes called Punta Leona). This is one of the most beautiful we have seen in Costa Rica.

Below you will find everything you need to know to plan your visit to this hidden gem. Playa Blanca is located north of Herradura on the central Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Although it is only a 15-minute drive from the famous Jaco Beach, this beach is not very popular with tourists. It is not signposted and many people think that you can only access it if you stay at the Hotel Punta Leona. This is not the case. Like all beaches in Costa Rica, Playa Blanca is open to the public. It’s a bit hidden so you need to know how to get there.

Aerial nature walk

There are not many white sand beaches in Costa Rica. The only thing that comes to mind is Playa Flamingo and I would call it a pink sand beach. I think Playa Blanca is one of the best hidden beach gems in Costa Rica and definitely worth a look. If you want to be on the South Pacific coast of Costa Rica, visit. Playa Blanca is a semi-private beach, partly owned by the Punta Leona resort. Since all bachelor’s degrees must have public access in Costa Rica, Punta Leona must provide access to Playa Blanca, but they don’t make it easy. This Playa Blanca guide will help you experience one of the best beaches in Costa Rica, just minutes from Jaco. It’s a great day trip from Jaco Beach or even San Jose. If you’re heading south to Manuel Antonio or Dominica, this would be an interesting stop.

Visit Turtle Island

While a mix of activities like hiking, boating, and pickup volleyball games ensure visitors get a good rest on land, most travelers visit Tortuga Island for its waters. The volcanic reef that surrounds the island is home to a wide variety of wildlife such as moray eels, spinner dolphins, and octopuses, as well as three shipwrecks, making it a great place to dive or snorkel. Isla Tortuga is an ideal location for day trips, usually day trips from San José and Jaco on the Costa Rica mainland, allowing visitors to explore some of the 23 islands scattered around Nicosia Bay. Choose a glass-bottom boat or sea kayak trip for a chance to admire the underwater scenery without getting wet.

Visit Carara National Park

Karara is one of the most popular national parks in Costa Rica, largely due to its proximity to San José. It is also a bus stop for many cruise ship passengers for a day trip, a stop on the coast of Puerto Caldera, and a common place for school children to ride. The advantage of having a relatively large number of people visit Carara is that if you simply stop by, you may have several qualified amateur guides at your disposal. Birds are very friendly people and usually love the curiosity of beginners (unless you interfere with their appearance. Walk quietly and slowly).

We stopped here on our own and found that one of the best ways to see wildlife is to look for people with their necks looking at a brush or umbrella. Then we stopped at a respectable distance and saw where they were looking. Often when one of the guides or birders described the habits of the bird or animal we saw, he would invite us to look through binoculars or a viewing device.

Horseshoe Beach Beach

Playa Herradura is located in the central part of the Pacific Ocean of Costa Rica. It is an hour from San José and a few miles north of Jaco. It was originally a small fishing village. The area has become a much-needed tourist destination, primarily due to the construction of the Marriott Los Sueños resort and adjoining marina. With its beautiful black sand beaches and stunning ocean views, Herradura Costa Rica has become more than just a local mystery. The high level of construction has also made Herradura a great shopping area with well-stocked art galleries and boutiques offering whatever treasure you’re looking for!

Ornithology

The proximity to the rain forest makes Jaco green, and the wildlife and bird population increase dramatically. Hobbyists from all over the world visit Jeko to watch the birds. Scarlet Macaws have a large population. These birds are incredibly beautiful with a combination of red, yellow and blue. If you love birds, pack your gear. There are more than 800 species of birds in Costa Rica. Even those who don’t like to watch birds will definitely enjoy seeing birds that they have never seen before. The peculiar sounds of these birds are many. The whole experience is a memory for a lifetime. Birds in Jaco include trogons, toucans, parrots, hummingbirds, moths, tangers, egrets, and many other birds. Make sure you have quality binoculars with a zoom feature.
