The best Wi-Fi extenders can be a lifesaver if you live in a big house or have rooms that aren’t all the same distance from each other. In my own home, I’ve found them to be very helpful. They are especially useful when you want to connect more than one device from any room in the house. So, if you want to improve your Wi-Fi coverage, here are some dual-band Wi-Fi extenders that I’ve used successfully when shopping online. These extenders have helped me choose the best one for my home setup.
If you’re having problems with dead spots in your reception area or your router can’t reach the far corners of your home or office, one of these network boosters can solve these problems without you having to spend even more money on a new router. These devices, also known as Wi-Fi repeaters or Wi-Fi boosters, amplify your wireless router’s signal and extend its range far beyond its original limits. They also ensure that the Internet signal is more stable in areas where the connection was previously sparse.
If you’re having trouble ensuring a good Wi-Fi signal throughout your home, it’s high time to invest in a Wi-Fi extender. A Wi-Fi extender will help you improve the strength of Wi-Fi signals, so you can get a strong Internet connection in all corners of your home or business premises. These devices are ideal for eliminating weak connections or dead Wi-Fi zones. If you want to buy a Wi-Fi extender, you can use the following list as a guide, which includes some of the best Wi-Fi extenders for homes and offices.

Enjoy a lag-free connection to any type of device, including wired devices via the Fast Ethernet port. System requirements Microsoft Windows 98SE, NT, 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7, 8, 10, Mac OS, NetWare, UNIX or Linux. RE220’s Ethernet port can easily turn your wired Internet connection into a wireless access point. It can also act as a wireless adapter to connect wired devices like Blu-ray players, game consoles, or smart TVs.
Of course, there’s always overhead, but with something like 4K streaming requiring maybe 15 Mbps of bandwidth, you won’t struggle too much, and its ability to eliminate dead spots is as good as any. The Ethernet port is a 10/100 model, so you won’t get the full benefit of Wi-Fi 5 speeds here either. A clever feature to maximize speed is Full Speed Mode, which connects to the router exclusively over the 5 GHz network and then uses the 2.4 GHz channel to connect to laptops, phones, light bulbs, etc.

TP-Link’s new RE650 is a well-designed and affordable model that offers good performance for people who may have difficult “dead spots” with poor Wi-Fi in their home. And it’s among the best Wi-Fi extenders out there. However, it’s worth shopping around, as you can’t buy the RE650 directly from TP-Link, and online prices seem to vary quite a bit, with the average price being around €120 / £90 / AU $180. You also don’t need a TP-Link router to use the device, as TP-Link states that it “works with any router” and we had no problems at all using the RE650 with our broadband provider’s standard router.

With Wi-Fi 6 speeds and even built-in mesh capability, the Netgear AX1800 Mesh Extender (EAX20) was already a contender for the best Wi-Fi extender you can get. While not everyone will be thrilled with its large desktop design-with no plug-in design, this extender can’t be hidden behind the couch or in the corner-and a price tag that’s more expensive than some Netgear routers, the proof is in the performance. And that’s what the Netgear EAX20 does, with best-in-class speeds and an impressive range of up to 30 meters.
The Netgear EAX20 can do one thing above all else expand networks that are faster and have a longer range than the competition. With a handful of customization options and an added layer of online security to protect your home network, it’s not hard to tell that this admittedly expensive extender is worth every penny.

We integrated the Netgear EX6120 into our test facility’s network and ran five different test configurations. These were designed to evaluate the extender’s performance over long, uninterrupted distances, between multiple floors of a building, and with obstacles such as walls between the router, extender, and test laptop.
We used Ixia’s IX Chariot to test the network with and without the extender to establish a baseline, and we calculated the results based on the percentage of the original network speeds on the extended network.
