The Razer Viper gaming mouse series was always developed with one goal in mind: performance. The mouse was created in collaboration with top professional gamers from the beginning in order to give a product that they desired to use. Everything about the Viper has been engineered to be the finest of the best, from the shape to the weight to the cable (or lack thereof). With the Viper Ultimate, Razer’s initial attempt at removing the connection, it was difficult to see how they could improve on it.
But that is never an idea that occurs to the Razer engineers. So here we have the Razer Viper V2 Pro. The box reminds you of why this stuff exists. It’s described as a “ultra-lightweight wireless esports mouse.” It’s less of a revolution as a sequel than the original Viper was. That isn’t to say it isn’t spectacular in its own way. The Viper Ultimate has long been my preferred gaming mouse, despite the fact that I am not a professional gamer. But the prospect of a newer one is undoubtedly appealing, though we are still looking for a mouse that genuinely improves my gaming performance.
After three years of using the Razer Viper Ultimate (RVU) as its flagship, Razer has finally unveiled its successor, the Viper V2 Pro. From a distance, the revamped gadget resembles its predecessor. I’ve used comparable lightweight clickers in the past, such as the HyperX Pulsefire Haste, so the 58g weight of this rodent isn’t very amazing to me. The Razer Synapse interface allows you to configure the numerous features of the Viper V2 Pro. When you connect the mouse to your computer, you are prompted to install the application. This is wonderful because it eliminates the need to visit an external website to download the software. The application allows you to operate various Razer devices, but for the purposes of this review, we’ll focus on the customization options for the Viper V2 Pro.
You can change the purpose of any of the mouse’s buttons and set profiles for different configurations in the Customize page. You can select one of five sensitivity settings (range from 400 to 6,400 DPI) on the Performance tab, or utilize a slider to get the precise DPI you desire. You may also modify the polling rate in this tab, which is useful for games that need speed and precision. The calibration tab is where you can change the tracking distance of the mouse. Asymmetric Cut-Off modifies the mouse’s liftoff and landing distance across different surfaces dynamically. This is especially helpful if you don’t have a mouse pad.

There was no juddering or stuttering, and it slid smoothly because to its rounded PTFE skates, making it a joy to use with Warframe and Bloodhunt.

There are numerous excellent gaming mice available for a fraction of the price of the Viper V2. If you’re thinking about upgrading from the Ultimate, the benefits of the V2 are present, but I’m not sure if the performance difference warrants the price increase. Especially because you lose a few things from the Ultimate as well.
